Still loads to do on this. In particular I'm not happy with the tones which seem to be all middle. Given the empty window is solid black I need to lighten some tones. Lots of peeling paint still to paint to (if that makes sense).

Sculpture sketch
The usual model was not well this week so we had a stand-in for one week only. This is 2 hours from life. Quite small (maybe 4 inches high or so).

Phoenix - Work in progress
Something different. Trying to get a finished painting done in 2 weeks (for a local art society full membership appraisal). Had a few photos from last August of a disused farm building that really struck me on the creative side of decay. The peeling red paint suggested flames hence the provisional title of Phoenix. Still got the top coat of turquoise to go, half the flames and a lot of shadows around the peeling paint. 20"x24" acrylic.

Gestures
Mostly gesture drawing tonight. First lot were from 5 minutes down to 1.
After the break we had some less than one minute.
We then had some longer poses. The tutor said that this would be two poses but it turned into three: 30 minutes, 15 minutes and 10.

Hands
Concentrating on hands in tonight's session. First some 5 minute exercises.
Then two longer poses. The first I thought was 20 minutes but was actually 30 minutes. This was good as I had time to work on the face/head as well and think about design (particularly with the shadows on the neck).
Last one not quite as successful, about 40 minutes.
