Capturing light.

Mostly concentrated on light on Tuesday. I knew we were doing longer (20 minute) poses so hoped to get multiple images on one page coordinated which almost worked. Hard pastels on 25"x19" pastel paper.

The rest were charcoal and charcoal pencil on 24"x18" charcoal paper (strathmore 500). I might try to use a mirror image of the first one to finish the pastel drawing.

Spinning around

One pose on Tuesday but the model rotated every 10 minutes. These are in coloured pencil, charcoal pencil and charcoal.

Looking away

For some reason all poses today had the model looking in the opposite direction. First three 5 minute poses in charcoal pencil.

Then an acrylic, probably 2.5 hours.

Finally coloured pencil, 90 minutes.

Splash of colour

Messing around with colour. 4 in 5 minutes, 4 in 10. These are water soluble wax pastels.

Long pose (35 minutes) used coloured pencil but didn't have time for more than the purple so I had a go at home to fill in the gaps. Still need to paint her hair (towards yellow/brown).

Lines and smudges.

Not quite capturing structure though some elements work. Six 10 minute poses.

Then slightly longer at 15 and 20 minutes.
