Isle of Wight: part two

Tree on Tennyson Down, near The Needles. Hard pastel, about A2.

Isle of Wight: part one

Painting on the Isle of Wight (though from photos taken earlier in the day rather than plein air). First a gun carriage from the old battery at the Needles. A2 water colour and oil pastel.

Then some acrylics, 6"x4". The Needles for the first two and the last is Alum Bay.

Good Friday

Managed to fit an extra session in. First some short poses. They were supposed to be 10 minutes each but the middle one (back view) stopped after 5 minutes which was an interesting experiment. Charcoal and charcoal pencil on A2.

30 minutes same materials

One hour, pencil on A2.

Calm before the storm

Posting from my phone. All drawings A2 charcoal and charcoal pencil. First three 10 minutes drawings.

Long pose was about 90 minutes.

Square dance

Couldn't work out a different crop and didn't have time to calm down the colours. 90 minutes in hard pastels about 55cm x 55cm (22"x22").

End of term

Two 2 minutes both wrong hand. All drawings are on A2.

Two 1 minute right hand

Continuous line 2 minutes

Long pose ran out of time. 1 hour 20 minutes.

Added some background colours at home.Not right but at least the highlights are now the lighter colours.
